Welcome to the beta launch of HowToLiveWow.com, it’s great to have you here! Here you will find inspiring stories, useful tools and helpful advice on how to achieve your highest potential, so you can live a happier, healthier, wealthier and more successful life. This site also helps you to connect with others, spread the word and to positively change your environment and the world we live in.
Introducing Myself
Please allow me to introduce myself to you. My name is Sietse Bakker, 25 years young, and based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. In 2003, at the age of 19, I made my first big dream come true: I started my first company, providing communications and public relations services. At the age of 22 I was hired as Project Manager Internet by the European Broadcasting Union, two years later (2008) I became Manager Communications & PR for the Eurovision Song Contest, which is Europe’s most prestigious television entertainment event. An absolute dream job, which I still enjoy every single day!
Diving Into Personal Growth
My fascination for personal growth and development started in 2004, when reading a fascinating book about financial prosperity. I quickly realized that financial abundance was only a tool to shape life, and not a goal on itself. I became determined to understand how to master life and came to the conclusion that the main goal in life is to be in a state of happiness. After all, we all want to be happy – no exception.
Defining Purpose: To Live Wow!
During the past five years of studying success and happiness, I came to the conclusion that there is no clearly defined purpose in life, unless you define one yourself. Not long ago, I decided it was time to define such purpose myself. A clear goal. On the 30th of June, 2009, I wrote the following in a blog post:
“I want to be able to summarize my entire life in just one magical word: ‘Wow!’ The love of my life: Wow! My children: Wow! The friendships I had: Wow! The career I worked on with dedication and joy: Wow! The things I learned and passed on in life: Wow! The most beautiful spots on earth I had the opportunity to visit: Wow! What I managed to do for others: Wow!” Read the original blog post..
Then, the next question was obvious: How to live ‘Wow’? Through this website, I want to share my personal journey of finding the answers to that question, and I want to inspire you in finding yours.
How To Live Wow – The Book
Parallel to posting on HowToLiveWow.com I am writing a book, describing the extraordinary search for the answers to the questions that keep our generation busy, and write a book about it. The odds of coming up with an eye-opening book that can change the world, our personal happiness and our common future are very small. But I am willing to give it a try, because I believe it is worth it. The goal is to finish the book in the first half of 2010. You can find more information about this humble book project on the book page.
